Donald J. Trump’s anticipated return to the White House could significantly alter the dynamics in major Democratic strongholds, particularly his birthplace, New York City. As the president-elect, Mr. Trump has outlined a series of policies that promise to reshape the city’s landscape, including a tougher approach towards recent migrant arrivals, the suspension of congestion pricing, and the implementation of tax cuts in a region already grappling with high taxation.
Moreover, his administration is likely to clash with city officials over critical issues such as climate change, healthcare, and affordable housing.
