Pennsylvania: The Key Battleground State for 2024 Presidential Election
Pennsylvania’s 19 electoral votes are poised to play a pivotal role in determining whether Donald Trump or Kamala Harris secures the presidency in the upcoming 2024 election. Having been a critical factor in the Democrats’ victory in 2020, this state remains a vital battleground, with both parties intensively competing for its favor.
As the fifth-most populous state in the nation, Pennsylvania boasts the largest number of electoral votes among the seven key swing states. Historically, it has aligned itself with the winner of the past two presidential elections, each time by a remarkably narrow margin of just tens of thousands of votes. Current polling suggests that the race in Pennsylvania will be exceptionally close this year.
A defeat in this state could significantly hinder either candidate’s ability to gather the necessary electoral votes required for a successful bid for the presidency elsewhere. In light of this, both Trump and Harris have been actively campaigning and making frequent visits to the region.
Notably, Trump was speaking in Butler County on July 14 when he became the target of an assassination attempt, highlighting the intense atmosphere surrounding this election cycle.
