Matthew Perry’s Pacific Palisades Home Sold After His Tragic Death

Matthew Perry’s Pacific Palisades Home Sold Following His Tragic Passing

The Los Angeles residence where beloved “Friends” star Matthew Perry tragically passed away last year has officially changed hands. At the age of 54, Perry was discovered unresponsive in the backyard hot tub of the property in October 2023. This home was one of several that Perry owned, and his untimely death was initially ruled a drowning. However, the Los Angeles County medical examiner later revealed that the cause was the “acute effects of ketamine,” with opioids also found in his system.

Perry, renowned for his exceptional talent in delivering witty one-liners as the charming Chandler Bing on “Friends,” had long struggled with addiction, a battle he openly discussed throughout his life. In August 2024, legal actions were taken against his personal assistant, two doctors, and two others, who faced charges related to providing him with ketamine.

Perry had acquired the midcentury home, built in 1965, for $6 million in 2020 through a trust, and he undertook extensive renovations, culminating in a stunning residence.

The new owner of this impressive property, a low-slung, four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath house, is Anita Verma-Lallian, a real estate developer and movie producer based in Scottsdale, Arizona. The sale took place off the market, with Verma-Lallian purchasing the home as an investment for $8.55 million through a trust. She was represented by Brooke Elliott Laurinkus from Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California.

Located in the serene and secluded neighborhood of Pacific Palisades, the home spans 3,500 square feet and is situated on 0.4 acres. After buying it for $6 million, Perry made significant enhancements, including the installation of a pool. A passionate Batman enthusiast, Perry often referred to himself as “Mattman,” sharing images on social media that showcased his home’s Batman-themed décor, including a striking red LED-lit bat signal at the bottom of the pool.

Verma-Lallian, who is the founder and CEO of Arizona Land Consulting, a land development and acquisition firm based in Phoenix, has been quite active in the real estate market recently. Her company recently finalized a 131-acre land deal in Buckeye, Arizona, for $20 million, along with a 600-acre deal in Casa Grande for $40 million. Additionally, in August, she sold a 2,100-acre site in Arizona to a startup land-development firm for an impressive $160 million, having originally purchased it for $40 million in 2022.

Matthew Perry’s estate was represented in the transaction by Greg Holcombe of Carolwood Estates. Unfortunately, neither Verma-Lallian nor the agents involved in the sale were available for comment regarding this significant real estate transition.
