This year’s Art Basel Paris has drawn an impressive crowd, with art enthusiasts and collectors flocking to the city in large numbers. Art Basel Paris, which opened its doors to V.I.P. visitors on Wednesday and will run through Sunday, marks the inaugural full-scale event for the renowned fair since MCH Group, based in Switzerland, took over the management of France’s flagship art fair in 2022. MCH Group, known for its expertly organized events in Hong Kong, Miami Beach, and Basel, Switzerland, has successfully rebranded and revitalized the Paris art fair experience.
Prior to this, two smaller versions of the fair were held under the name Paris+ par Art Basel in a temporary venue near the iconic Eiffel Tower. This year, however, the reimagined fair has returned to the splendidly restored Grand Palais, an Art Nouveau exhibition hall originally constructed for the 1900 Worldās Fair. The event features a remarkable 195 galleries, representing a 27 percent increase from the previous iterations.
Luc Haenen, an esteemed contemporary art collector based in Antwerp, noted, āThere is an atmosphere of the 19th century ā but thatās glorious. It adds to the Parisian grandeur.ā Visitors are greeted with a breathtaking display of sunlit sculptures and vibrant paintings, including those featured at 303 Galleryās booth, creating a captivating ambiance that enhances the overall experience of the fair.
